I grew up in a small community in Pennsylvania and graduated from a very small high school in 2006 with about 70 of my classmates. I decided to give college a try, commuting about 40 minutes everyday, and working a part-time job. In my second semester I dropped out, thinking that it wasn’t for me. I was very much overwhelmed by being a full-time student and working. I just needed a break. In 2009, I gave college another try, moved 3 hours away from home, and I absolutely loved it! In December 2012 I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. This is where a whole new journey begins. I decided to move even further away from home , Alaska to be exact. That’s right, 4000 miles away from just about everything I knew. Why? My answer to you is why not? My boyfriend is going to grad school here and I was starting a new chapter in life anyways.
I have been in Alaska for about 6 months now. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. I hated the bitter cold of winter and I certainly don’t look forward to it. I am having a terrible time finding a job where I can use my degree. I am sure the job will come in time, it is extremely frustrating not matter how positive I am about it though. I am thankful to have a job where I make enough to pay on all the student loans that I have accumulated and I am looking forward to what life has in store for me.
Won’t you come along for the adventure?
